Green 1971 MGB Free.
I had hopes of restoring the car, but the time and the money never materialized, and rather than see the car crushed, I’m willing to give it away for free to someone who may be able to do something with it. It hasn't been running in about 20 years, and although the engine is not seized or frozen (it does crank), I estimate that it needs between $3000 and $4000 in parts alone (new suspension front and back, new tires, new gas tank, brake job front and rear, batteries, maybe carburetors, new radiator, water pump and God knows what else). The rear wheels are locked; it's some kind of brake malfunction. It has been garaged for the last 25 years and has some rust around the wheel wells. Except for batteries, the car is complete. It comes with a convertible top, tonneau cover and original British Leyland
shop manual. I don’t know if the top needs replacement. Except for the rust noted above, the body is in good shape. The last time it ran, all the instruments worked, the wheels (rostyle wheels) are in good shape and all the lights and lenses are in good shape. I suspect the car has value, as either a parts car or maybe a restoration project. The recipient would just have to remove it from my garage which would probably require a flatbed truck. I’m located in Garden City.

1962 MGA, asking $30,000
1972 MGB Roadster.
I drove the car for several years in the summer, it has been parked in my driveway since 2015, but starts up immediately and idles well. Many new parts including carpeting in interior and trunk, brake master and clutch master cylinders, rear brake cylinders, water pump. New rubber bushings in front and rear suspensions. Carbs have new floats, gaskets needles and seats. Recently tuned up. New floors, soundproofing/heat insulation under carpets. Seats have some cracks in them, as does dashboard.Front tires are new and appear in good shape. Rear tires will need to be replaced. Full size spare will also need a new tire.Paint is in poor condition. I painted myself two years ago, and found some bondo, especially on the right side. I tried to smooth it out, but was only partially successful. Paint is cracked in spots, and has an orange peel appearance. It's a good 'ten foot' paint job (ie looks good from ten feet away). Some surface rust is coming through behind door as seen in photos, but no major rust issues that I could see. Body feels solid, despite cosmetic problems. When I welded in the new floors, the underside appeared in good condition. Trunk floor is in good condition - I removed and repainted gas tank and did not see major rust - there was some surface rust which I painted with POR-15.Top does not leak, but has minor tear, and window plastic is yellowed.
Price is negotiable
